Maritime industry, one of the most international fields, inevitably desires global co-operations. Aware of this fact Dokuz Eylul University School of Maritime Business and Management and University of Gdansk Institute of Maritime Transport and Seaborne Trade have collaborated and this book is one of the fruitful results of this collaboration. This joint publication constitutes various studies and researches of the staff members from the two institutions and it provides a strategic point of view for the Polish and Turkish maritime industries. The overall aim is to contribute to the international safety and quality approaches, competitiveness and performance development in the maritime field. The histories of Poland and Turkey present numerous examples of constructive co-operations and this work is the first as a joint publication of the academicians from the two countries. The global feature of the maritime industry has provided a strong base for this opportunity and the study is presented to the attention of the maritime community with the belief of enhancing the international inheritance.
